The Thing About Photorealism
A plane ride and an art piece. In the 1970s, photorealism became really popular and the Kansas University Art Museum is showcasing it today. Some people can mistake pigment for celluloid when it comes to this. More information on the topic of paintings is located at photos into paintings.
It is a working medium that is needed by those who paint in this particular manner. Using a canvas and some paint, they make a copy of the photograph by hand. There was an art show created by two friends, one of which is a leading aviation and aerospace attorney, and they wanted to show off the skills of 22 artists. There were diverse pieces in the collection.
The theme of one artist is a horse. While the sister is riding a horse, two brothers, model planes in hand, stare closely at the camera. With a car by a helicopter on one side, one artist decided to go with the theme of old toys and so he also had a floating plane in a bathtub. For another artist, on an aquarium floor lay a small toy plane.
Keep in mind that these paintings were inspired by real photographs and when you look at the canvass, it looks like the photographs have been enlarged but no, they were painted. What Renaissance artists did was use grids to enlarge their sketches for murals and this same trick was used by the artists in the show. There was a painting done of an air borne fighter jet. In this case, what you will notice is how well the artists make use of clear, precise lines and color in their works. There was one artist who made a tinted painting of an air ship and he was actually into antique photographs.
In terms of painting a photograph, why would an artist go through all of the trouble of doing so? The process of painting is actually depersonalized when an artist paints based on a picture. In this case, the translation is all up to the artist. In photorealism, it is important to be able to use brushes and air guns to garner painting precision.
Competency is one of the biggest factors in this case. People have been drawn to abstract pieces and this is simply a reversion, the artists want to draw attention to realistically clear pieces. What you have here is the joining together of everything that is reflected by photorealism courtesy of the Whitney Museum in New York.
The movement lives on. An artist spends much time and effort when it comes to these pricey things. Magnificent is the word that best describes the paintings. Here, you have paintings done with love.
